Craig Buffkin, Managing Partner

Craig Buffkin, the firm’s founder, serves as the managing partner and is actively involved with client engagements and business development.  He leads the Marketing Practice specifically working on Digital/Direct assignments and is also leads the firm’s search efforts in Healthcare Technology.  Mr. Buffkin is actively engaged in board, executive and senior level assignments both nationally and internationally for a wide range of private, public, venture-backed, and private equity-back companies.

Prior to founding The Buffkin Group, Mr. Buffkin was a director in a national technology search firm with 5 offices and over 75 consultants.  Mr. Buffkin has completed over 250 engagements while involved in both firms.

Before entering the search profession, Mr. Buffkin spent over 3 years as a turnaround specialist and over 10 years in marketing services.  As a turnaround specialist, he served as the Chief Operating Officer of ARMS, Inc (a 50/50 joint venture with GE Medical Systems), Executive Vice President of Pioneer Medical, Inc. (a regional medical supplier), and as a consultant to Great American, Inc. (the largest school fundraising company in North America).  He played a significant role in directing the growth and profitability for each of these companies.  Prior to his turnaround experience, Mr. Buffkin gained sales and p/l experience as a Regional Manager with The Southwestern Company, a national marketing services conglomerate.  These experiences have enabled him to develop an expertise in helping companies attract and retain the leadership capital they need to be successful.

Mr. Buffkin holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  He and his wife Heather reside in Nashville, TN with their three children, Caroline, Charlie and Francie.  He is an avid golfer and fisherman.
